NOTICE OF POLL

DÁIL BYE-ELECTION 2026
CONSTITUENCY OF GALWAY WEST

Take Notice that, pursuant to a writ issued to me by the Clerk of Dáil Éireann, I will take a poll on 22nd May, 2026, between the hours of 07:00am and 10:00pm to elect 1 members of Dáil Éireann for this constituency.

The names and descriptions of the candidates standing nominated and of their proposers (if any), and the order in which they will appear on the ballot paper, are set out hereunder.

Information for visually impaired voters

A ballot paper template will be available at each polling station in Galway to facilitate visually impaired voters.  The template will allow voters to identify the location of the box to be marked for each candidate by touch.    A list of the candidates running in the Galway By Election, in the order they appear on the ballot paper, can be heard by calling the freephone number below.

Voting on Inishboffin Island

Voting on Inishboffin Island will take place for the Galway West By Election from 7am to 9pm on the 22nd of May 2026.

Please note that the Returning Officer is prohibited from employing anybody who has been employed by or on behalf of a Interested Parties or Elected Representatives in or about the Election or has been associated in furthering or promoting the interests of any interested party at the Election.  This includes posts on social media.
